Answer ID 11776   |   Last Review Date 11/24/2020

How will the announcement from Microsoft regarding support ending for Internet Explorer 11 with Online Applications, affect the Oracle B2C Service application?

Environment:

All Supported .NET versions of Oracle B2C Service

Issue:

Support by Microsoft is ending for Internet Explorer 11 for Microsoft's Online applications. See Notes below!

NOTES

Per Microsoft; as of November 30, 2020, Microsoft will stop supporting Internet Explorer with their online "Teams" Web application. Then beginning on August 17th, 2021, Microsoft will stop supporting Internet Explorer with Microsoft Office 365 applications and their components.

Beginning with the Oracle B2C Service 20D release, Oracle will not be supporting the Oracle B2C Service .NET application with Internet Explorer 11.

NOTE:

Oracle B2C Service versions 20C and older versions are still supported for use with Internet Explorer 11 as IE11 is still supported by Microsoft.  We do suggest that if possible, users switch to the EDGE browser.

Also please see the following information.

Microsoft recommends using Microsoft Edge as your default browser and supports Internet Explorer 11 for backward compatibility. Go here for a list of Microsoft Edge supported operating systems.

Internet Explorer is a component of the Windows operating system and follows the Lifecycle Policy for the product on which it is installed. For customers running on an older version of Internet Explorer, we recommend customers migrate to the latest version of Edge.
