Product and Category visibility settings are not respected by Knowledge Advanced
Answer ID 10468   |   Last Review Date 07/24/2019

After making a Product or Category not visible on the Product/Category/Disposition page, why does it still appear in Authoring?

Environment:

Oracle B2C Service Knowledge Advanced

Issue:

When using Knowledge Advanced, the Oracle B2C Service Product/Category/Disposition visibility settings are not used. I marked a Product or Category as not visible on the Product/Category/Disposition page, but they still appear in Authoring > Repository settings.

Resolution:

When KA is enabled on a site, the Product/Category/Disposition visibility settings for products and categories are not synchronized as this functionality is handled by KA. Visibility of products and categories can be configured in Authoring > Repository > Views settings.

Cause:

This issue occurs because the same functionality overlaps in KA and B2C Service. Because of this, It was determined that when a site has KA enabled the Authoring configuration will dictate functionality and the Product/Category/Disposition visibility settings will be ignored.

Notes:

If you are unfamiliar with Product/Category/Disposition visibility settings in Oracle B2C Service, please refer to 'Edit Visibility Settings for Multiple Products Simultaneously'.
