Products and Categories Synchronization with Knowledge Advanced
Answer ID 10305   |   Last Review Date 07/24/2019

I created a new Product or Category in Products/Categories/Dispositions in Oracle B2C Service, why does it not appear in Authoring?

Environment:

Oracle B2C Service Knowledge Advanced

Issue:

An Administrator made a change to the Products/Categories/Dispositions hierarchy but it does not reflect in the Authoring.

Resolution:

The new product or category should be displayed in Authoring immediately. If it does not appear, a backup process runs every night to ensure any uncaught changes are accurately reflected in Authoring.

Cause:

Products and Categories synchronize in two ways:

1. Immediate: Handled by a Server Process Model (SPM) process that is kicked off when a change to a product or category is saved.

2. Daily: Batch job that runs overnight and synchronizes Products and Categories. This ensures nothing gets missed in the event there is a problem with the SPM process.
