Why does GetSmartAssistantSuggestions SOAP call ignore product/category filters?

Environment:

August 2015 and later

Resolution:

To allow GetSmartAssistantSuggestions to filter on product and/or category, the configuration setting SA_USE_SOCIAL_PROD_CAT_FILTER must be set. This setting specifies the filter to be used in the SmartAssistant GetSmartSuggestion query.

The supported values are:

0 - No product or category filter (default)

1 - Product filter only

2 - Category filter only

3 - Product and category filter


Path to setting(s): Select Configuration from the navigation area > Site Configuration > Configuration Settings > and search by Key.
