Referring Sites report not consistent with Top Referring Searches From Google report
Answer ID 8513   |   Last Review Date 03/11/2019

Why is there a difference between the Referring Sites report and the Top Referring Searches From Google report?

Enviroment:

November 2011 and newer version

Resolution:

The Referring Sites report (ID 163) provides a list of sites that referred a user to any of the interface end-user pages.

The Top Referring Searches From Google report (ID 216) provides a list of top 10 searches performed from Google. Only scenarios where the user clicked through from Google to an answer/detail page with the answer ID (a_id) will be considered valid information in this report.

Therefore, the results for the same time period for the two reports may have significant differences.
