Limit to the number of characters in an answer variable
Answer ID 5124   |   Last Review Date 04/03/2019

Is there a limit to the number of characters in an answer variable name?

Environment:

Creating variables to be used in answers, incidents or chat
Oracle B2C Service, all versions

Resolution:

The maximum number of characters that can be used in the "Name" of a variable is 40 characters.

A variable is a predefined shortcut for entering a long string of text when adding an answer, responding to an incident, engaging in a chat session, or creating standard text.  They are created by navigating to Configuration > Service > Variables.  A different value can be entered for each interface (if multiple interfaces exists).

For additional information, refer to the Add or Edit a Variable section in the Online Help User Guide documentation. To access Oracle B2C Service manuals and documentation online, refer to the Documentation for Oracle B2C Service Products.
