Setting the expiration of a link sent to reset a password
Answer ID 4212   |   Last Review Date 01/30/2023

How do I set the expiration of a link sent to reset a password?

Environment:

Standalone Configuration Editor, Contact Passwords, 23B and later
Oracle B2C Service

Resolution:

When a customer forgets their standalone configuration password, they have the ability to have it reset.  You can also set how long the reset password link that is sent to them is valid.

Oracle B2C Service security settings allow you to set the password for the standalone Configuration Editor.

The following setting is used to configure the expiration of the password link.

SEC_EU_EMAIL_LINK_EXPIRE - Specify the duration (in minutes) that a temporary link sent to reset a contact's password is valid. The default and maximum value allowed is 30 minutes.
NOTE: Sites created before 23B may have an existing value greater than 30 minutes.  If edited, a maximum value of 30 minutes will be enforced.

Path to setting(s): Select Configuration from the navigation area > Site Configuration > Configuration Settings > and search by Key.
