What happens when a chat is submitted with an invalid email address?
Environment:
Chat
Oracle B2C Service
Chat
Oracle B2C Service
Resolution:
When implementing Chat applications, it is advisable that invalid email addresses are not permitted when chats are submitted by end users, should the chat form require one.
Starting with 24C Chat server version, if a chat is submitted with an invalid email address in any of the formats below, the anonymous email address will be set for that chat instead.
trailing@emaildot.
emailnodot@oracle
noatemailaddress
The out-of-the-box email address for anonymous contacts is anonymous@anonymous.invalid, but this can be customized via message base ANONYMOUS_AT_ANONYMOUS_INVALID_LBL. Further information is available in Answer ID 4200: E-mail Addresses in Chat
