Connecting B2C Service with OCI Native Applications
Answer ID 12621   |   Last Review Date 05/12/2023

How can I configure connection from Oracle B2C Service to OCI Native applications?

Environment:

Oracle B2C Service

Resolution:

For Admins, External Objects & integrations feature can be used to connect their Oracle B2C Service instance with OCI native applications which support the below integration types and authentication types.

Integration types:

OData - Integration type can be used for report creation.

ORDS - Integration type available from 23B that can be used for report creation.

REST - Integration type can be used for authentication in extensions

Note: The .NET report designer can be used to design reports who has required permissions, using the data made available through the OData/ORDS connection. The XO report can be rendered in BUI (only). And the report creation ability is limited by the capability which OData/ORDS endpoint provides.

Links for Reference: OData, ORDS

Authentication Types:

Basic Authentication

Bearer Token

Session Token

OAuth2

OCI Signature V1.0 - Available from Release 23B

How to configure?

Admins can navigate to the External Objects & Integrations from the BUI 23A version via the Administration UI page or Admin can customize the navigation set to include External Objects & Integrations, using which the admins can access the configuration UI. Once configured the connection will be visible in the External Objects & Integrations UI along with the list of connections which has been configured.

Admin can also create connections to other services in addition to the OCI native applications which use one integration type endpoint or authentication types.
