Object Reference error received when creating a new Template in Templates Explorer

When trying to create a new template from the Templates Explorer, why do we receive an Object Reference error?

Templates Explorer, Oracle B2C Service, All versions
 
Resolution:
 
The reason why the error message: "Object reference not set to an instance of the object" is displayed, in this specific scenario, is because the HTML Design Mode box is not checked in the associated profile's permission set. To resolve this, simply open up the profile of the affected account. Navigate to the Feedback tab, under Documents check HTML Design Mode and save.
Ask the affected user to log out and back in. When the user will try to create a new template, the error message will no longer be displayed.
