Inline html comments (within KA Conditional Section) causes wrong evaluation of usergroup settings at the KA Conditional Section
Answer ID 12575   |   Last Review Date 03/01/2023

Why would inline html comments (within KA Conditional Section) cause wrong evaluation of usergroup settings at the KA Conditional Section when viewing the KA answer in Authoring (and Customer Portal) Content view page?

Environment:

Knowledge Advanced for Oracle B2C Service

Resolution:

The following are some non-conformed (not well-formed) inline html comments examples.  Even though many publicly available IDE tools/browsers/editors may allow and able to handle them fine, unfortunately these non-conformed (not well-formed) inline html comments would cause wrong evaluation of usergroup settings at the KA Conditional Section when viewing the KA answer in Authoring (and Customer Portal) Content view page.

<!--  xxxx -------------->
<!--  yyyy --->

Hence, author will need to always add the well-formed inline comment as <!-- zzzz --> (ie, with EXACTLY two hyphens)
