Oracle Messaging Email Addresses
Answer ID 12446   |   Last Review Date 03/28/2023

Why is the email address in Oracle B2C Service different for OM chats?

Environment:

Chat, Oracle Messaging
Oracle B2C Service

Resolution:

When launching chats through Oracle Messaging (OM), the real email address of the end user would need to be bypassed by the third party integrated with OM (such as Facebook). Due to GDPR policy and specific settings governed by these applications, the end user's real email address will not reach Oracle B2C Service in most cases.

Instead, the email addresses created from OM chats will have this format: channelType_channelId_userId@anonymous.invalid. These email addresses are unique per user according to the third party application and multiple chats launched by the same user will be associated with the same contact record.
