Using external identity provider (IdP) with Browser UI/BUI
Answer ID 8879   |   Last Review Date 10/24/2022

Can Browser UI/BUI use other identity providers other than Oracle B2C Service?

Browser UI, Oracle B2C Service, All supported versions

Browser UI/BUI supports service provider and identity provider initiated SSO. If service provider initiated SSO is setup, once activated, Browser UI will automatically use the same settings and redirect to the external identity provider for authentication. For more information on setting up service provider initiated SSO, refer to the link below.

For additional information, refer to the 'Configure an external IdP for agent authentication on the Login window' section in the Online Help User Guide documentation for the version your site is currently running. To access Oracle B2C Service manuals and documentation online, refer to the Documentation for Oracle B2C Service Products.

If setting up IdP initiated SSO for Browser UI, the same assertion URL should be used as service provider initiated SSO, however, the assertion URL will attempt to launch the .NET client by default.  In order to prevent the .NET console from being launched, the external IDP (from where the SSO process is initiated) MUST set the RelayState to http://site-URL/AgentWeb/ while posting the assertion.
