The Oracle Service Cloud Support Experience Blog has been out a little more than a year and I'm proud to say that the 14 posts over that period have resulted in more than 17,000 views. I honestly can't say whether that's a big or a small number, but I can't help but be pleased that we've had that number of people come to learn about different aspects of the product as well as about customer experience in general. As you can see, we are now moving into the next phase of our blog evolution: a new blog portal.
Since we rolled this blog out last year, I've been asking our team for a portal that offers an improved user experience. It was obvious that the initial set up was, at best, a square peg in a round hole. Not only have our developers delivered greatly enhanced functionality, but they've done so using our own product. They came up with a means to use the Knowledge Base as a foundation around which to build the blog. Internally, this offers tremendous advantages, including the opportunity for accurate metric tracking. Externally, user improvements include:
§ The five most recent blogs previewed in a thumbnail on the home page for easy scanning.
§ Search is available by title, categories, tags and archived posts.
§ Once a blog is opened, quick social share buttons are available for Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Google +.
§ Easier subscribing and unsubscribing.
§ "Likes" are not hidden behind a login.
§ Connecting with the various Oracle Service Cloud properties as well as author, Edward Hobart, is simple.
§ And of course, viewers are treated to a much improved aesthetic experience which include the tribute to our hometown, Bozeman, MT, USA.
As you get the chance, please navigate your way around the new portal and let me know what you like, what you don't and suggestions you have for improvements. Hint: Use the comments area or the Support Suggestion Box found toward the upper left of your screen.
