Using ALT key to generate ASCII characters
Answer ID 7843   |   Last Review Date 09/26/2018

Why am I not able to generate ASCII code using the Alt key?

Environment:

All versions on Enhanced Console

Cause:

Enhanced Console is using a different .NET framework in which Microsoft changed the behavior of the ribbon.

Resolution:

This is the standard behavior since the application is based on .NET framework and the ribbon functionality is inherited. When pressing the "Alt" key, it creates a combination with the ribbon items instead of ASCII code of different characters.

Standard text with the specific characters can be created or the Character Map can be used to copy/paste the desired character.
