Re-authenticate Office365 mailboxes after updating client secret
Answer ID 12889   |   Last Review Date 08/30/2024

Why are emails not processed in my Office365 mailbox a few days after adding a new Client Secret?

Environment:

Oracle B2C Service, 25A and below
Office 365 mailboxes

Issue:

Emails are not being processed in my Office365 mailbox a few days after updating the Client Secret.  I added a new Client Secret in my Azure Active Directory > App Registration since the current one was about to expire.  I also updated configuration key CUSTOM_CFG_MAILBOX_OA_CLIENT_SECRET.  Everything seemed to work fine for a few days, but now emails are not being processed.

Resolution:

After changing configuration key CUSTOM_CFG_MAILBOX_OA_CLIENT_SECRET, all Office365 mailboxes should be authenticated again to ensure the new client secret is being used.  The Authenticate button is in the Browser UI client (BUI) at Configuration > Site Configuration > Mailboxes > select the mailbox > Incoming Email tab. Note this is only necessary on versions 25A and below. Versions 25B and above should read the client secret directly from the configuration value.
