"Unexpected error during import" message in the Import Wizard
Answer ID 12526   |   Last Review Date 06/14/2024

Why do I receive the warning "Unexpected error during import" while importing records that include a date or date/time field?

Environment:

Data Import Wizard

Resolution:

If you are trying to import new records and the prescan of your file returns the error "Unexpected error during import," the possible cause would be the date format. Review the data file and its format and compare it to the default format.

The data file should use an accepted format:
YYYY-MM-DD h:mm:ss tt (i.e. 2024-06-01 6:00:00 pm)
YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss (i.e. 2024-06-01 18:00:00)
YYYY-MM-DD
DD-MMM-YYYY h:mm:ss tt (i.e. 01-Jun-2024 6:00:00 pm)
DD-MMM-YYYY hh:mm:ss
DD-MMM-YYYY
YYYY/MM/DD h:mm:ss tt (i.e. 2024/06/01 6:00:00 pm)
YYYY/MM/DD hh:mm:ss
YYYY/MM/DD
DD/MMM/YYYY h:mm:ss tt
DD/MMM/YYYY hh:mm:ss
DD/MMM/YYYY
