OFS 21D Hosted Plugins Triggering the Error 'Cross-Origin Request Blocked’
Answer ID 12027   |   Last Review Date 12/09/2021

Why I am receiving the error 'Cross-Origin Request Blocked’ when accessing the plugin?

Environment:

Oracle Field Service (OFS),  CORS, Access-Control-Allow-Origin

Issue:

Our plugin is now unable to hit our hosted REST API to retrieve specific information about an activity. We are now seeing the following error in our developer console:
Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at https:/******. (Reason: CORS header ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ missing).

Resolution:

Starting version 21D, OFS plugins have undergone functional and infrastructure improvements.
After the upgrade, the plugins will establish connection with the following origin:
https://plugins-0-{instance_name}.fs.ocs.oraclecloud.com
Previous origin: https://plugin-hosting-{oracle_dc_id}.etadirect.com

Actions required:

* This document does not apply to customers that do not have hosted plug-ins.

If you have plugins that initiate connection to the external APIs and have a restriction at Access-Control-Allow-Origin directive, we suggest you to validate connectivity in your preview test instance and change the origin to the new URL.

Symptoms that might be observed before you change the origin URL: the plugin might fail to interact with the external APIs returning the following error Developer’s Console of your browser:
Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at PLUGIN_REMOTE_API_URL (Reason: CORS header ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ missing).
