Read Only field setting for organization of contact

Why is the organization field read only even though we have not specified it to be? 

Environment:

Contacts, Organizations 
Oracle Service Cloud

Resolution:

When making edits to a contact, on the contact editor, in order to select a different organization, the profile needs this setting:
  • From the Configuration items, select Staff Management > Profiles > Permissions > Contacts tab >  Move permission for Service
    • Move is the column heading and then Service is the row you want to select
 Once the change is saved, this will allows agents of the profile to move contacts between organizations.

When this is not selected, agents can view the current organization of that contact, but cannot move the contact to another organization. The organization fields are then in a read only status.
