Resolution:
The amount of answers returned per search request can be limited by the answer's search score. The following site configurations are used to set the answer's search score:
SRCH_ATTACH_WEIGHT Sets the value used in calculating the search score for words used in file attachments of answers. The minimum value allowed is 0. The default is 4.
SRCH_BODY_WEIGHT Sets the value used in calculating the search score for words used in the Answer field of answers and the thread entries of incidents. The minimum value allowed is 0. The default is 4.
SRCH_CAT_WEIGHT Sets the value used in calculating the search score for words used in the Category field of answers. The minimum value allowed is 0. The default is 50.
SRCH_PROD_WEIGHT Sets the value used in calculating the search score for words used in the Product field of answers. The minimum value allowed is 0. The default is 50.
SRCH_DESC_WEIGHT Sets the value used in calculating the search score for words used in the Question field of answers. The minimum value allowed is 0. The default is 30.
SRCH_KEY_WEIGHT Sets the value used in calculating the search score for words used in the Keywords field of answers. The minimum value allowed is 0. The default is 50.
SRCH_SUBJ_WEIGHT Sets the value used in calculating the search score for words used in the subject of both answers and incidents. The minimum value is 0. The default is 45.
Site Configurations described below are used to limit search results by the search score:
ANS_SRCH_THRESHOLD Specifies a threshold for returning answers. Only answers that match at or above this threshold will be returned. If the configuration setting ANS_SRCH_SUB_THRESHOLD is enabled, an exception is made when all matching answers are below threshold. Acceptable values are between 0 and 100. Default is 0.
ANS_SRCH_SUB_THRESHOLD Specifies whether there should be an exception to limiting answer results with a threshold on matching. If enabled, when no answers match at or above the threshold set, the answers that matched less well are still returned, avoiding a zero result set. If disabled, no answers matching below threshold are ever returned. Default is disabled (No).
Path to setting(s): Select Configuration from the navigation area > Site Configuration > Configuration Settings > and search by Key.
