Answer ID 13138   |   Last Review Date 05/01/2026

Environment

Oracle B2C Service Knowledge Foundation

Overview

Oracle is deprecating the Knowledge Foundation Answer Editor (legacy Answer Editor) in the .NET Agent Console as part of ongoing enhancements to the Oracle B2C Service platform. Customers must transition to the Agent Browser User Interface (UI) to continue managing Answers.

What is Changing?

The existing Answer Editor in the .NET Agent Desktop is a legacy component and will be deprecated starting with the August 2026 (26C) release.
Beginning with this release:

  • The legacy Answer Editor will no longer be available in the .NET Agent Console
  • Answer management must be performed in the Agent Browser UI

What Should Customers Do?

Customers are required to transition to the Agent Browser User Interface (UI), which includes a new and improved Answer Editor.

  • Adoption is required upon upgrading to the 26C release
  • Ensure users are prepared to use the Browser UI for Answer authoring and management

Why is This Change Happening?

The legacy Answer Editor:

  • Has not received active feature development or enhancements
  • Is difficult to maintain two editors

The Agent Browser UI editor provides key benefits:

  • Improved security and compliance
  • Better maintainability
  • Enhanced user experience

How Long Do I Have to Switch?

The deprecation takes effect with the August 2026 (26C) release. Customers must transition at that time, as the legacy Answer Editor will no longer be available in the .NET Agent Console.

Can I Continue Using the .NET Agent Console?

No. Starting with the 26C release, the legacy Answer Editor is no longer available in the .NET Agent Console.

Recommendation

To ensure a smooth transition:

  • Begin planning your move to the Agent Browser UI now
  • Train users on the new Answer Editor
  • Update internal processes ahead of the 26C release
