Fields added in DBaaS channel configuration in Oracle Field Service
Answer ID 12371   |   Last Review Date 09/02/2022

Environment:

Oracle Field Service (OFS)

DBaaS integration

Issue:

I have configured an integration channel for ADW (Autonomous Data Warehouse) with DBaaS in Oracle Field Service and selected the fields I want to transfer. I don't know if I need to add the fields in the database as well or if these fields will be auto-created with the transfer.

Resolution:

After you select the fields that you want data to be transferred, you don't need to add the fields to your database manually. The selected fields are added as columns to the corresponding tables in the DBaaS instance.

Please keep in mind that if you are creating the channel as real-time transfer and adding the fields for the first time, real-time data transfer for the entities is initiated only from the next day after the first run of the Daily Extract is completed. If you have kept the data transfer type as real-time and add new fields days later, the data in these new fields will be pushed soon after. But if at some point you have changed the data transfer type to Daily and then back to real-time and add new fields, it will only push the new fields after the next Daily Extract run completes.
