Report Database / Replication Server Disabled in Upgrade & Test Sites
Answer ID 12264   |   Last Review Date 08/15/2026

Why do some reports error with "query processes too much data" in my upgrade site when they run fine in production?

Environment:

Oracle B2C Service Analytics

Issue:

Several reports fail to execute in my upgrade site with "Unable to Process Report > This query processes too much data. You can reduce the amount of data processed by refining your existing search criteria and/or adding new search criteria to the report definition."  These same reports execute in production for longer date ranges than in my upgrade site.

Resolution:

Report database / replication server for Analytics is disabled by default on upgrade sites and non-production (test) sites.  You will need to submit a service request at Ask Technical Support.  Please provide an example Report ID and search filter settings where the issue occurred.  We will verify the behavior and then enable the replication server / report database for your site.

Cause:

This happens because upgrade and test sites do not have report database / replication server enabled by default.  Since it is not enabled, reports designed to run on the report database will actually run on the Operational database, which has a lower maximum pre-scan limit of 2 million row, increasing the likelihood of warnings that the report is processing too much data.  More details available in:
