Why does the Field Resource receive the error 'Unable to start activity. Data has been changed. Please review your route' when starts the activity from non-scheduled pool?

Environment:

Oracle Field Service (OFS)

Issue:

When Technicians attempt to start activities from their Non-scheduled pool, the error 'Unable to start activity. Data has been changed. Please review your route' is received and the activity continues to be in Pending status.

Resolution:

This behavior is expected when the permission 'Allow activity move from non-scheduled pool to scheduled one' is not enabled for the User Type in Configuration > User Types > General. Before starting the activity, the system tries to move the activity to the Scheduled pool and only then start the activity. To allow users to start the activity from the non-scheduled pool, make sure the permission in set correctly.
