What is the Point Support option within OFS and how is it utilized?

Environment:

Applies to all Oracle Field Service (OFS) versions

Issue:

What is the Point Support option within OFS and how is it utilized?

Resolution:

Within the business rules screen, the Point Support option is a way to limit the volume of work to be routed to a resource on any given day. You may choose how to define the point value when configuring it for different activities. This may be defined by different options such as job complexity, time, skills, and cost. These options are not specific and may vary.

A customer may have various reason for applying a point value system. As an example, this may be used for defining certain limits on how much work can be assigned to a new resource.

Points can also be used as a routing parameter to help distribute work across resources or to stop the amount of work being assigned to a specific resource type.

Additional Information:

Please see Using Routing Cloud Service guide in our OFSC Documents page.
