Adding External mail servers to Oracle SPF Record
Answer ID 9591   |   Last Review Date 02/23/2023

We have a requirement to legalize the spoofing on Oracle Managed Service Mailbox. Can Oracle do this?

Environment:

Email Deliverability, SPF Record
Oracle B2C Service, All versions

Resolution:

Oracle is unable to add your mail servers to Oracle owned SPF records. This goes against corporate policy for security. The SPF record allows a sender to send on behalf of someone else; in this case, you are asking to send on behalf of Oracle which cannot be allowed.

In short, the answer is Oracle will not add your mail servers to Oracle owned SPF records, adding such an entry puts other customers at risk. Additionally, we will not add domains used by other Oracle products to existing Oracle B2C Service SPF records. Per our policy, records can only consist of resources we own and maintain.
