Why can't I add ICS endpoint without writing over existing one?
Answer ID 9841   |   Last Review Date 01/28/2019

Why does my existing endpoint get overwritten with new data when I add a new ICS endpoint?

Environment

Oracle Field Service (OFS) February 2017 (17.2)

Issue

When adding a new endpoint for an ICS integration, the existing entry is replaced with the new data rather than creating a new entry.

Resolution

You are trying to add an integration with the ICS Domain that already exists, thus OFS accepts this as editing of the current integration.

ICS Domain is a unique value.  (Only one integration point can be added with the same ICS Domain)

To modify an integration, follow these steps:

On the Integration Cloud Service (ICS) screen, click Modify for the end-point that you want to modify. The Edit Integration Cloud Service (ICS) Access dialog opens.

Edit the fields as required. You can edit all the fields, except for ICS Domain.

Click Submit.

Cause - You are trying to add an integration with the ICS Domain that already exists, thus OFS accepts this as editing of the current integration.

Notes

To add more than one, integrations should have different domains.
