System ID's within Oracle Field Service (OFS)

What are system ID's within OFS?

Environment:

Oracle Field Service (OFS)

Resolution:

System ID's in OFS are automatically generated incremental fields assigned to different features such as Work Zones, Work Skills, Properties, Resource Types, and more.

Configuration > Resource Type > ID column is highlighted

These ID's are to be used only as supplemental references while working within OFS and should never be used in integrations because ID's are not static and can change during procedures such as upgrades, cloning tasks, or other situations.

Example:

When implementing OFS in environment1.test, System ID's are generated as you configure the environment. When this environment is cloned to PROD, the System ID's may not be generated the same in the target instance. Labels and names are kept the same.

While integrating with API's or other external systems, customers must use labels or names instead.
