Oracle Service Cloud Mobile Agent App (TAP) is deprecated as of May 2017. Customers are encouraged to move to Oracle Service Cloud Mobile Accelerators (for a mobile application) or the Agent Browser UI (for browser on tablets).

  How long do I have to migrate my Oracle Service Cloud Mobile Agent App (TAP) implementation?

The deprecation period for Oracle Service Cloud Mobile Agent App (TAP) starts May 2017. Oracle Service Cloud Mobile Agent App (TAP) will remain available for at least 2 years before the removal of the functionality.

  Why is Oracle Service Cloud Mobile Agent App (TAP) being deprecated?

Oracle Service Cloud Mobile Agent App (TAP) does not meet customer needs due to the limited availability on iOS and the lack of extendibility and configurability.  Our newer mobile solutions around the Mobile Accelerator, for phones and tablets, and the Agent Browser UI for browsers and tablets, more closely align with providing advanced innovations in the mobile arena.

  What is the future strategy for agents using Oracle Service Cloud on a mobile device?

Oracle Service Cloud plans to support mobile agents in two ways.  First, we want to provide a mobile application that can be used on both iOS and Android devices that is extendable to meet your organization's unique needs by using our Mobile Accelerators for Oracle Service Cloud. Second, we want to allow agents to use any browser on any device to access the desktop.  Today the Agent Browser UI is supported on the major browsers (IE, Safari, Firefox and Chrome) and on major tablets (both iOS and Android) with future plans for mobile responsive UI for support on a variety of mobile devices.

  What if I don't migrate?

No future enhancements will be made to Oracle Service Cloud Mobile Agent App (TAP).  Severe defects will be addressed until the final removal of TAP.
