Why am I receiving a 'data modified' error when trying to edit a Staff Account?

Environment:

Profiles/Staff Accounts

Issue:

I am receiving the error message when trying to edit a Staff Account:

"Data Modified: The data you are attempting to modify has been modified by another user.

Resolution:

Use the audit log of the record to verify who is editing the same staff account at the current time. Ensure that a staff account record is not being edited by two or more administrators at the same time.

Cause:

The behavior occurs when more than one administrator account is editing staff groups at the same time.
