Creating shortcuts to launch the Service Cloud application
Answer ID 6323   |   Last Review Date 12/12/2018

How can I create a Windows Desktop or Task Bar shortcut to launch Oracle Service Cloud?

All supported versions.

During the ClickOnce installation process the Oracle Service Cloud application will create an application launch file in the agents' Windows Start Menu here:

Windows  7, 8.1, and 10.

C:\Users\%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\RightNow

If the agent would like a shortcut to launch the Oracle Service Cloud application from the Windows Desktop or Task Bar, please have them perform the following steps:

Windows  7, 8.1, and 10.

1. Click Start Menu > 'All Programs' > 'RightNow'
2. Right-click the desired RightNow site and select 'Send To' > 'Desktop (create shortcut)'

Task Bar:
1. Click Start Menu > 'All Programs' > 'RightNow'
2. Right-click the desired RightNow site and select 'Pin to Taskbar'

Additional Notes:

The RightNow launch icon in the Windows Start Menu is a ClickOnce application reference file, not a shortcut. This file should never be moved from its original location as determined by the installation process. Doing so will result in unexpected behavior of the ClickOnce installation or update process.
