Knowledge Advanced SharePoint Integration
Answer ID 13145   |   Last Review Date 05/18/2026

How does the Knowledge Advance integration with Sharepoint works, and how does it handle Document IDs?

Environment:

Oracle B2C Service Knowledge Advanced (KA)

Issue:

How does the Knowledge Advance integration with SharePoint crawls documents?

How does the system handle document IDs that already exist?

Is there a mechanism to overwrite or update existing IDs with documents sourced from SharePoint?

Resolution:

This feature is designed to bring SharePoint content (Documents and Lists only) into Knowledge Advanced (KA):

  • It is needed to create a Content type with a name and schema matching with the name and schema in the SharePoint list.
  • SharePoint documents are crawled and made searchable as web-crawled documents.
  • During the initial crawl, new KA articles are created from SharePoint list items.
  • If a SharePoint list item is changed later, the corresponding KA article created by the crawler is updated as a new version.
  • In the KA system, the document ID will be auto-generated and canot be created/updated manually. Additionally, it doesn't allow to update the document IDs that are sourced from sharepoint.
