Answer ID 12882   |   Last Review Date 08/16/2024

What do I need to know about the deprecation of the Oracle B2C Service CP Basic Page and Facebook Self-Service Page feature?

Environment:
Oracle B2C Service
Oracle Service Cloud
Customer Portal (CP)

Resolution:
Due to low usage and maintenance overhead on the development team, we have decided to discontinue the Basic Page and Facebook Self-Service page features.

Oracle B2C Service CP Facebook page and Basic page set deprecation.

How long do I have to migrate my Oracle B2C Service implementation?

The deprecation period of CP's Facebook page and Basic page set on Oracle B2C Service starts in August 2024. It will remain available until June 2026 with a CP PHP 5.6 code base when they are being made end-of-life (EOL).  End of Life (EOL) is defined in the Oracle Cloud Hosting and Delivery Policies.

Customers upgrading to PHP 8.3 now can expect to see a functionality break.

What happens during the deprecation period?
No future enhancements will be made to the Oracle B2C Service CP Facebook page and Basic page set. We will continue to fix defects, if any, identified as a part of product functionality for the CP PHP 5.6 code base.

What happens to Oracle B2C Service Basic Page Set data after it's turned off?
The details can be still accessed by other means, like standard templates or mobile pages instead of Basic Pages.
However, CP's Facebook self-service page and Basic page sets will no longer work after EOL and should stop referencing the same.
