Reset search suggestion (Find) index
Answer ID 12660   |   Last Review Date 07/13/2023

How do I reset the index for suggested search or global find and replace?

Environment:

  • Oracle B2C Service environments using Knowledge Advanced only
  • All versions
  • Suggested search, Find in Authoring, Global Find and Replace
Issue:

Scenario 1: In a new clone environment, search suggestions are not coming up when the user starts typing.

Scenario 2: Documents are missing when we look for them in Find or Global Find and Replace.

Resolution:

Reset the full text search index.

  1. Using an account with the sysadmin role, navigate to Authoring > Tools > Full Text Search > Reindex.
  2. To reset the entire index, which can take a few minutes, choose "Reset and Index Repository."
    • If only one particular content type has an issue, you can choose to reindex just that content type. Choose from either All, Latest (the latest version of each document), or Live (published versions only).
  3. You can view the progress by going to Authoring > Tools > Full Text Search > Reports. Eventually all of the individual tasks should say Completed. The report page will only update when you open it again.
