Message status set to obsolete (ACTIVITY_WAS_RESCHEDULED)
Answer ID 12381   |   Last Review Date 09/06/2022

Enviroment:

Oracle Field Service (OFS)

Issue:

I noticed that some messages configured in our message scenarios were not sent. Status displayed is 'obsolete (ACTIVITY_WAS_RESCHEDULED)'.

Resolution:

There are a number of actions in the system which, under certain conditions, might remove the existing messages, if the messages have not yet been sent.

Obsolete status is set by OFS when a message is no longer relevant due to an action that was performed within the application (such as delete, move, suspend) or a creation of another message (due to a reschedule, for example) invalidating the original message.

For example, the Day Before message was generated to inform the customer about an activity, but the activity had been cancelled before such message was delivered. Since this message is no longer relevant, it is set with status 'obsolete' and it is not sent to the customer.

Other cases include:

ACTIVITY_WAS_STARTED
ACTIVITY_WAS_CANCELED
ACTIVITY_WAS_NOT_DONE
ACTIVITY_WAS_DELETED
ACTIVITY_WAS_SUSPENDED
ACTIVITY_WAS_MOVED
ACTIVITY_IS_NOT_ORDERED
NEW_CUSTOMER_MESSAGE_WAS_CREATED
VISIT_WAS_CANCELED
VISIT_WAS_DELETED
VISIT_WAS_STARTED
VISIT_WAS_RECALCULATED
NONWORKING_DAY

For a full list of what messages are removed due to certain actions, please see Message Removal Cases.
